NEC

Sick of your titchy smartphone keyboard? Not convinced by those odd-looking fold out jobs? Well how about a keyboard that is projected onto your arm?

Sound like science fiction? Not a bit of it: electronics giant NEC has developed the ARmKeypad, a virtual keyboard for use with eyeglass computers and smartwatches, which displays on your arm.

By looking at your smartwatch through the glasses, NEC’s software can determine the location of each device, Nikkei Asian Review reports. The glasses then display a virtual keyboard, which is positioned to appear as if projected on your arm.

NEC apparently sees the ARmKeypad as being used in factories, hospitals and other places where workers want to keep their hands free.

But, frankly, we’d rather just to pretend we’re in Kraftwerk.
