That’s it: the internet of things has officially gone too far after Intel revealed this week that a team of boffins has used its Edison platform to create a prototype internet-connected nappy.

The Register reports that the device, on show at Computex 2015, uses a dual core Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of flash to tell you what, quite frankly, your nose could do for free: that your baby has discharged in his / her nappy.

What the report doesn’t say, however, is where exactly all this gear is to be stored, not to mention how you keep it clean.

It gives a new meaning to Intel Inside, anyway.
